Hi, I'm Sophie!

I’m a freelance writer, content creator and model, mostly working in fashion. I have several years’ experience working for fashion professionals – from runway shows, photoshoots, events, assisting with brand publicity, content creation and more. In the span of my short career I’ve grown a strong passion for sustainable, ethical fashion. I’ve channeled this into support for many local businesses, by helping them with media coverage, and pro bono social media content and modelling work. I’m learning as I go and continuing my research, so I can share knowledge with others who are interested in making sustainable fashion choices.

The story behind this photo...

This image is from my early modelling days, when I was first introduced to the world of sustainable fashion. The dress was created by Otaku Designs, a local Perth designer who handmade sustainable garments and unique, one-off pieces. The bag is by Sans Beast, a brand that is now stocked in major department store David Jones. Sans Beast’s designs are created using vegan leather. I liked learning about how these brands slowed down the design process, making ethical decisions to minimise their environmental impact. This is one of the many shoots that inspired me to research the sustainable fashion industry.
